The six Womenade groups on the Seacoast were founded by women who realized that while there are many great organizations available for people in need, there are also many small expenses, which are needed quickly and may not be covered by those organizations.

Womenade taps the power of women coming together, establishing an informal and fun fundraising process — social gatherings of our friends and neighbors — to create a fund from which gifts can be made to local people in need. Referrals are taken from validated community members and funds are paid to the entity requiring payment, not directly to the person in need. Together we have made a big difference.
