Through December 31, 2009, Womenade of Greater Squamscott has donated nearly $140,000 to hundreds of local families in need. Most of these donations paid for utilities including oil and electric bills, rent, food, auto repairs and gasoline.Funds were also used for more unique needs:
Good and services, including car repairs, hair cuts, legal assistance, computers, and food cards were also donated to Womenade.
At some events we ask participants to bring food for our local food pantries. This food
was given to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry and Families First. Both groups are overwhelmed by the generosity
of the community.
Others helped by submitting their Shaw’s receipts to us (See link at the top of the page), hosting a gathering in their home or donating a percentage of their business proceeds to us.
Women like you have organized book signings, craft nights, spa nights, exercise classes, open houses and many other events to benefit Womenade of Greater Squamscott.
If you would like to get involved, please e-mail us. We keep in touch with our donors primarily
via e-mail. If you would like to
get on our e-mail list to be
notified of upcoming events, please go to the Contact Us
page.
It's nice to know that 100 percent of your donations go to local families, most to our SAU (School Administrative Unit 16). |

WOMENADE STANDS |
| |
Serving the six towns of SAU 16 — Exeter, Stratham, Brentwood, Newfields, Kensington and East Kingston, Womenade of Greater Squamscott was the first group of New Hampshire women to begin helping local families turn lemons into lemonade. Since then, other groups have formed in Southern New Hampshire, and most recently, Maine, working together and independently to raise funds to help residents in need. |

|
|
Many of the requests we receive for assistance come from our local school nurses, pediatricians and local groups
like Seacoast
Hospice, Service Link and
Families First. These trusted
sources know the people in question
and have validated the need for help
and lack of other available resources.
As we had hoped, the
Womenade concept is catching
on. Our
group
has
been instrumental
in establishing other New Hampshire groups:
Womenaid
of Greater Portsmouth,
Womenade of the Hamptons, Oyster
River Womenade, Womenaid of Dover. and most recently Concord Womenade.

Womenade raised more than
$10,000 in 2005,
$22,000 in 2006,
$34,000 in 2007, $42,000 in 2008
and more than $50,000 last year. |
Kittery, Maine is up and running as well. Thus far, these organizations
have raised many thousands of dollars more for New Hampshire and Maine families
in need.
Women in Rochester, Newmarket and Epping are also talking to us about forming Womenade groups in their communities. Without a doubt, your support and encour-agement have made this happen! |
Finally, Thank YOU! Your generosity has overwhelmed us. Womenade of Greater Squamscott has raised over $166,000 since we began in 2005. Clearly, we are meeting a need and having an impact in New Hampshire, and now
Maine, as well. Thank you
for joining us and making such
a tremendfous difference in our community! |
